Lansing Pediatric Associates is pleased to offer telehealth services to our patients during the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic.

Telehealth visits are virtual visits with one of our physicians. During the Coronavirus pandemic, telehealth visits are recognized by most insurance carriers as equivalent to an office visit. Therefore, we will bill your insurance and you will be responsible for your co-pay. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to understand your insurance coverage and have knowledge of your plan benefits.

Telehealth visits may be appropriate for medication monitoring (ADHD/Anxiety/Depression), behavioral consultation, and routine pediatric illnesses such as upper respiratory infections, sore throat, allergies, pink eye, sinus infections, rashes, acne, etc. Telehealth visits may also be appropriate for triaging children with respiratory symptoms to help parents decide whether their child needs to be seen.

Not all visits types are appropriate for telehealth. We believe that well child visits should be completed in-person so that we may accurately assess your child’s growth and development, perform a comprehensive physical examination and administer any recommended screenings and immunizations. The American Academy of Pediatrics continues to emphasize the importance of immunizing the youngest children in the context of well child care.

Due to coronavirus concerns, we have made significant modifications to our clinic schedule and physical space to reduce the risk of well children being exposed to potential contagious diseases. If your child is ill at the time of their well child exam, we ask that you consider rescheduling or speak with our clinical staff to determine if your child should be seen for an ill visit instead.
